Have you ever heard of a service called FileCatalyst? Here is a short description about that service.

Capture When it comes to sending large files don’t even attempt to send them through your standard email server. The file size is generally too large for the basic email server and it will usually exceed the limit. A great alternative is FileCatalyst, they have a free service where you can use their fast file transfer software for sending files quickly and easily, no login or registration necessary. They also offer several services including managed file transfers,FileCatalyst workflow, and many others. You can also always tell a company's success by their client list...check it out. To access the FREE file transfer service you can go to their products page at: http://www.filecatalyst.com/products

I think it’s a kind a new technology with a different protocol and method to transfer files worldwide through the internet. It’s a very complete product with its security, administration, user management, and reporting features for business or personal use.

Clear administrator account’s password with bootable CD

Posted by Christian

Saturday, May 15, 2010

This will work only on Windows Vista and its predecessor. Using Hiren’s Boot-CD 10.1 is a fun thing I guess. There is a lot of thing you can do with this CD actually. However, the most easy and interesting one is to use it to clear administrator password. It is easy and do not need any particular skill. Just as simple as this:

1. download hiren’s boot CD. http://rapidshare.com/files/310850611/Hiren_s_BootCD_10.1.rar

(Since it’s not my upload, i’d like to thank www.mrzuo.com from which i get the link)

2. Boot the cd to your computer.

3. Choose password and registry tool

4. choose active password changer (in this version of hiren it is number 1 choice.

5. chose your hardisk where your windows had installed

6. press enter for any SAM database detected

7. wait for a moment

8. there you can chose which user you might want the password to be cleared

9. check the “clear password” checkbox press ‘Y’ to continue.

10. there you are, restart your computer and tadaaaa…. it works..

I’ve tried this both on vista and xp. They’re all success. This cd has so so much utility program that you might want to try. The one that is interesting is to know the BIOS password. If you want to remove your BIOS password just use the BIOS tools. There is an option to hack the BIOS password. believe me, do something new is a fun thing.

Happy trying.. ^^,

registry_editor_b

In Make Sure Your Computer Free from Viruses post I’ve intro duce you to one of the virus behaviors. Usually virus use system file attribute as a place to hide. And here is the solution to repair it.

If you realize that your computer can’t show the “System Volume Information” folder in each hard drive, I suggest you follow my way to fix it.

First you should check “has the windows registry editor blocked by the virus?”. Just simply open run in start menu items or hold <WindowsKey> and then press ”R” letter from your keyboard. The run windows will appear, then write “regedit” and press enter. If the Windows Registry Editor opened. It means your Registry Editor has not been disabled by the virus. But if there is a message like this:

registryerror[1]

It’s pretty obvious that your computer is infected. And it needs pretty long way to fix it.

This is my way to fix it :

For those whose computer’s reg editor has not blocked.

Just simply copy this script to notepad and save it with “UnLock.reg” filename and don’t forget to set the “Save as type” with “all files”.

Code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\HideFileExt]
"Type"="checkbox"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30503"
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"ValueName"="HideFileExt"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000000
"UncheckedValue"=dword:00000000
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000000
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51101"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden]
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30499"
"Type"="group"
"Bitmap"=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,\
  00,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,53,00,\
  48,00,45,00,4c,00,4c,00,33,00,32,00,2e,00,64,00,6c,00,6c,00,2c,00,34,00,00,\
  00
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51131"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\NOHIDDEN]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30501"
"Type"="radio"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000002
"ValueName"="Hidden"
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000002
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51104"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30500"
"Type"="radio"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000001
"ValueName"="Hidden"
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000002
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51105"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden]
"Type"="checkbox"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30508"
"WarningIfNotDefault"="@shell32.dll,-28964"
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"ValueName"="ShowSuperHidden"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000000
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000000
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51103"
"UncheckedValue"=dword:00000001

then, right click in the file, choose “Merge”, and click ok on the following dialogue box.

Finally, restart your computer, and then do Make Sure Your Computer Free from Viruses tips again to show the super hidden files in your computer.

For those whose computer’s reg editor has blocked.

It’s little bit complicated. But I will tell you step by step.

1. Read the note below this post before doing the next step.

2. Use IceSword to change the registry editor.

3. Click the Registry bar on left side toolbar of the IceSword.

4. Find this key like you use Windows Explorer.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
“DisableRegistryTools”

5. Delete that key.

6. Do “For those whose computer’s reg editor has not blocked.” tip.

IMPORTANT!!!!!

NB: Before you do those tips, make sure all of the virus processes have been terminated. If you not sure what kind of virus is that you can googling or ask in forum with post the disturbances of the virus. And ask google again for the list of processes which must be terminated. I suggest you terminate those processes with IceSword.

This tips are only available for Windows XP. For windows vista or 7 user, I personally suggest you to protect your computer with antivirus program such McAfee or Avast. You can download those freely through rapidshare. Just google it and you’ll find tons of download link, and those are free of charge.

That’s all. If your computer can show system files. You can see viruses in your computer directly and you just need to delete them all manually. Hope the information help. Good luck.

Powerful Tool to Wipe Out Unwanted Processes

Posted by Christian

79780 Ice Sword 1.22 (English)

This simple tool is pretty cool you know.

It has so many functions especially to clean your computer from viruses. But, I must warn you that this program also potentially break your file system. (I’ve once broken my Bro Laptop with this tool and I must reinstall the OS)

One tip before you use this tool is memorize the processes which are used by the OS or your other services/applications. Use this by your own risk.

icesword1-22sshot

This tool can be used to delete files, terminate hidden process, change or delete registries etc. There’s no process or file can hide from this tool. You can also access your “System Volume Information” folder each drive of your Hard disk.

This tool is also can modify your registry though the administrator prevent you not to use the windows’ default registry tools. Remember that virus often use this setting to prevent user look the viruses files.

If you want to delete file, just select “Files” menu from left bar side. Explore your file which you want to delete. Right click and you can choose delete with force or just normal delete.

Personally I use this tool to edit registries and remove running viruses manually without antivirus programs.

Want to try it??
Open this link.. Hope the file is still exist..

Download IceSword1.22en Windows XP

Have fun!!!

Make Sure Your Computer Free from Viruses

Are you doubt about virus existence in yours??
Here is a way that I usually did to check it..

  1. Make sure your FolderOption menu still exist in Tools menu of Windows Explorer
  2. Open Folder Option menu and make sure you have UNCHECKED "Hide extension for known file types", "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" menu and choose "Shows Hidde Files and Folders" in "View" tab.
  3. Look in drive C: in Windows Explorer. Folder "RECYCLER" and "System Volume Information" must be appeared, These two folder are default folder of windows hardisk and its attribute are super hidden(System Files). RECYCLER contains deleted files and System Volume Information contains Recovery Files of Windows.
  4. If those two folders appeared, thank God because your computer may not contain viruses.
These step isn't a fixed way to make sure the virus existence in your Computer. But almost every virus hide on "Super Hidden" attribute. This attribute make Windows considered it as a System File that must be protected and mustn't be shown.

Thats why, it's better for you to show your System File while you operating your computer. And thus I suggest you to always use Windows Explorer and make sure you use your files in Detail view. Don't let yourself "tricked" by viruses.

Be carefull about file with Application type. Make sure you know these file. Many viruses are seen as Application. And you must pay attention and delete some file that have type as Application but also have icon of Word document(*.doc) or Screen Saver(*.scr). I highly suggest you to delete it.

These are some virus that I often face in Indonesia:

Generic BackDoor

This virus hide with icon of Word Document and have exe extension(Application). If a computer infected with this virus and the virus process are running, every word document in the flash drive that plugged in to the computer will replace by the virus activator with same name as the original document's file name, has word icon and working as Application. The virus don't wait till the user open the virus extractor but it will work automatically by itself. The time when you see those virus file, the virus started its process.

W32/Conficker.worm!inf

This kind of virus aren't Application. I highly recomended you check your flash disk "Are there any RECYCLER folder on it". RECYCLER folder is default folder ONLY for hard disk. And if this folder exist in your flash drive obviously it is a virus. Delete it!! The file(with *.vmx extension) in folder RECYCLER isn't the virus activator, the activator is in root folder on the flashdisk, Autorun.inf.

These are some information I could provide now. Hope this will help you. Comment awaits.. ^^

Antivirus McAfee

Antivirus must be installed in every computer wether its connected to the internet or not. Most viruses' threat are from internet but it is very possible that offline computer infected by virus. The most device that may inject virus are flash drive. Therefore we must make an effort to prevent this threat. I suggest you to use McAfee VirusScan Enterprise v8.5.0i to protect yours.

I don't really understand how this program work to secure your computer from dangerous viruses. But I know that this program not only clean your file from virus but it also clean the Windows Registry. So Windows still can be configured as well.

McAfee has released its latest VirusScan Program in 2009. But I think it's not compatible for me. Its services are very weighing the computer and it use so many memory. McAfee 2009 is unable to be update if your computer is offline. It must update automatically when its connected to the internet. And not everybody in Indonesia have that connection. Its update also take a long time.

There is no antivirus could work well without update. And McAfee can update it's engine, virus definition, etc with one big file. This file named "sdatxxxx". xxxx are update number. Bigger the number shows it was the latest update you have. So make sure you have the Biggest one fresh from the internet. This file may freely download from:

www.scanwith.com

And if you want its intaller you can check in www.d60pc.com

There's so many software that really important to be installed in your computer. And the most important is The software you download from there are complete with its crack, serial or keygen. Use Cracked software is...

YUMMY..... ^^
